WHOOP wearables have been a game-changer in the fitness tech industry, helping professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts reach and maintain their goals. But, like any device, it needs proper maintenance.

WHOOP broke into the fitness tech industry, offering athletes, bodybuilders, and fitness enthusiasts a way to track and improve the daily physical behaviors that impact their overall health.

The tech giant developed the WHOOP wearable, a device that continually assesses sleep patterns and strain levels, which encompasses the activities one engages in a day and recovery, measuring readiness for the next training session.

WHOOP's Company Guidelines on How to Clean WHOOP Strap

WHOOP recommends only handwashing your WHOOP strap with gentle soap. You can either hang it to dry afterward or use a towel to wring out the excess water, then leave it to air dry completely before continuing usage.

You can also clean your WHOOP while showering by removing it and washing the band and the sensor with soap and water. Ensure you also wash the part of your skin that touches the underside of the sensor.

For regular maintenance of the sensor, perhaps 2-3 times a week, clean it with sanitizing wipes or soap, then rinse it thoroughly. The sensor also has two rectangular cutouts on its underside, which will likely collect debris. Use a soft brush or toothpick to gently scrape the dirt off to clean this area.

Additionally, WHOOP recommends you wash your WHOOP strap 3-4 times a week so it doesn't retain moisture. The company also encourages WHOOP wearable owners to change out the strap periodically.
